As always, Dave P. unloaded a wealth of information for this gesture drawing session. He emphasized that we should always be thinking with a sense of design when drawing from life: tapering shapes, contrasting shapes, straights versus curves, all that jazz we keep hearing but have a hard time embedding into practice. We do NOT copy the model, but instead we enhance real life moments that already lay before us.

Our model pulled out a digital camera and took a pose as if she was taking a picture. Dave P. pointed out something interesting, an observation of contemporary times. He said nowadays, people usually don't hold the camera up to their eye when taking a picture (unless of course you're a photographer).
